How can my team play at Nationals?
Your team can gain entry into UPA Nationals through a Qualifier (VQ) tournament. Please see our FAQ’s for more information. Touring Pro events only require a Touring Pro Membership & Entry Fees.
How do National teams remain Qualified?
Any team that wins a VQ must remain qualified for Nationals by playing required matches each following season up to Vegas Nationals.
Are the UPA Nationals a public event?
Yes. The venue is open to the general public, however. due to limited space, only Members are permitted to enter into the tournament area. (Tables are reserved for members only).
Non-members may participate in all Challenge Matches, raffles, etc.
*Minors are permitted with parent/guardian. UPA events are non-smoking and Family Friendly.
What is the format at Nationals?
UPA Nationals will have the same format as VQs which function the same as normal league night play, with the exception of the following:
- First team to reach 26 points wins match
- A player cannot play twice in one match (no Match Substitutions)
- Any forfeited match automatically awards 10 points to opposing team (Team Speed penalty applies)
- A player can only play on one (1) team, per discipline, at Nationals
- All events are Modified Double Elimination
Can I play on more than one team at the Nationals?.
Yes, a player can play on both an 8-ball and 9-ball team, however may only play on one (1) team within the same discipline.
What equipment will be used at the Nationals?
7 ft. Diamond Tables, Aramith Ball Sets.
Are there Green Fees at the National event?
No. All table time at Nationals is free to members. Only UPA members are permitted to play on tables throughout the event.
What Speed will I play with at the Nationals?
Players will always play with their current Official Speed (OS) at the time of the Nationals.
IMPORTANT: Player Speeds are subject to change anytime throughout the National event.
What is the Dress Code for Nationals?
Teams are required to wear matching team shirts (color, type, etc.) during competition at the National event. Pants are also required, however do not need to match (full length).
There will be NO: Hats/Sports Caps/Beanies (UPA Hats allowed), Headbands/Bandannas/Do-rags, Sunglasses, Shorts/Sweats, Tank tops/Crop Tops, Shower Shoes/Crocs, Sleeveless Shirts, skirts, dresses, etc.
Federal Trademark: No party is legally authorized to produce or manufacture ANY item with UPA, trademarks, or logos.
Code of Conduct?
All UPA members are considered guests and are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with UPA Code of Conduct. The event is Family Friendly and any member who does not conduct themselves accordingly will not be permitted to remain at the event as well as forfeit their ability to attend future National events.
