Team Captain of the Month – Mike Ivy!

Team Captain of the Month – Mike Ivy!

Mike Ivy is Team Captain for “Hustlin” out of Ft. Worth, Texas for Tarrant County UPA League Operators, Ryan Schmidt and Betty Robinson. Mr. Ivy has been a member of the UPA for about 2 years now, and his goal coming in was to rebuild a team that could win consistently. Looks like his goal was accomplished as “Hustlin” went all the way to win our UPA Nationals 3rd place Title! Mr. Ivy said he had a specific strategy coming into Nationals and even showed us the different scenarios he had drawn out for different speed match-ups for putting his players in the box. He’s a pretty smart guy! While letting his team recharge between matches, Mr. Ivy remained a dedicated Captain throughout the week and stayed to watch the other teams play. In fact, earlier this week, Mr. Ivy played the Racketeers again in Houston, not a rematch per say, but a friendly game just to keep the spirit of the mock rivalry going between the two Texan teams. Mr. Ivy, a former League Operator for the APA, reveals that one big reason he made the switch to the UPA was that an LO for the APA isn’t eligible to play in the leagues. When he resigned, it was going to be 2 years before he would be allowed to play, so he looked for other league options in the market; we’re happy UPA was there to take him in! Once he made the switch, he knew immediately that he had...
